There is a bat group in most counties. Our county is of special importance - it supports 16 of the 17 species of British Bats. Bat Group members are working to maintain this diversity and to increase the populations of our bats.

Devon Bat Group was formed in 1986, by a number of like minded people concerned about the decline of British Bats.

The Group is always looking for members, people who are interested in learning more about bats and have time to join in group activities.

These include; visiting roost owners, organising bat box schemes and surveys, giving educational talks, arranging bat walks and caring for sick and injured bats. Licenced members carry out bat wardening work for Natural England.

Social activities and workshop days are organised throughout the year. Members receive a membership package on joining and regular newsletters. We meet regularly to discuss individual, local and national bat work.
